Abstract

216,600. Lanchester, F. W., and Daimler Co., Ltd. March 9, 1923. Pistons.-In a piston of the type; having a separate spring- pressed slipper b, the slipper is also positioned axially by springs. The slipper is supported at each gudgeon-pin boss by a pair of springs v and is pressed outwards by a spring h. All the springs bear on the gudgeon-pin bosses. The springs h are housed in pockets in the slipper b, while the pockets housing the springs v may be formed in the slipper, or in the gudgeon-pin bosses, as shown. The springs v prevent contact of the slipper with the piston.
