Abstract

216,251. Proulx, C. A. March 14, 1923. Ball bearings for spinning, twisting, and like machines. A sleeve 31, which adjustably carries the inner races of the ball bearings of the wharl, is secured to a bushing 30 surrounding a fixed spindle and is provided with a collar 32 against which the inner race 28 of the upper bearing butts. The inner race 29 of the lower bearing is screwed on the sleeve and secured thereon by a screwed collar 38 and 'an interposed washer 34, which engages a slot 33 in the sleeve and, by means of one of a series of notches 36 in its periphery, with a projection 37 on the race 29. The wharl is provided with an oil cap 18 which houses an absorbent washer 21, and with a cup 14 which may be provided with oil-apertures.
