Abstract

A transport device comprising relatively spaced guides (1, 1') between which transport bodies (2, 17) can move slidably, said transport bodies (2, 17) having a rectangular shape and the orientation of the transport bodies (2, 17) in space being substantially maintained when the direction of transport is changed (4, 6, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15) whilst during the transport the transport bodies (2, 17) push on one another and mechanical driving means are provided for the transport, the device comprising a plurality of relatively merging transport paths (4, 6, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15) being at right angles to one another and intersecting one another, whilst change-over means are provided for moving transport bodies (2, 17) from a transport path to a transport path at right angles to the former.
