Abstract

203,970. Davis, C. Dec. 13, 1922. Hair, removing superfluous. - An appliance f or removing superfluous hair comprises a coiled spring 1, Fig. 1, of steel or other wire having normally closed convolutions, with its ends 2, 2 arranged to form axles freely mounted in the ends 3, 3 of a pair of levers 4, 4 pivoted together at 5. Secured to the ends 2, 2 are balls 7, 7, or the-ends may be bent over, so that on gripping the handles 6, 6 the spring 1 is stretched. It is then applied to the skin and allowed to relax; when the hairs will be gripped between the turns of the spring, and may be pulled out, preferably by rolling the spring over the skin. Preferably, each end of the spring is secured within a cap 8, Fig. 2, having an axle 9 mounted freely in the end 3 of the lever 4.
