Abstract

203,814. Crompton & Co., Ltd., and Burge, H. O. June 23, 1922. Driving-gear; noise, reducing. - The blade carrier C of an electrically driven ceiling fan is coupled to the driving portion B of the motor by leather or other sound-insulating material, the screws fastening the leather to the motor being spaced apart from from those fastening it to the fan. The coupling may consist of flexible pieces A, Fig. 1, secured to the motor and fan by screws D and rivets E respectively. In a modification a flexible ring is employed as the coupling while in another modification, a cylindrical coupling A, Fig. 3, is used.
