Abstract

203,758. Deane, H. J. June 9, 1922. Fluid-actuated valves.-A valve particularly applicable to pneumatic conveyers is adjusted by means of the fluid flow past the valve. A truncated cone valve 3 is arranged in an enlargement 2 of the conduit 1, and adapted to cooperate with two seatings 4, 5. The stem 6 carries a yoke 10 connected by rods 11, 12 with pivoted rods 13, 14. The inner ends of the rods 13, 14 are pivoted to vertical rods 17, which are pivoted to a stem 18 carrying a disc 19. One or more angularly movable discs 21 are arranged in the hollow valve seat 4 to form an adjustable bypass. In a modification, Fig. 2, a cylindrical valve 22 forms a closure between a conical hood 27 and the constricted part of the conduit. Pressure on the disc 19 due to the velocity of flow acting through the arrangement of pivoted links described, determines the position of the valve 22.
