Abstract
203,705. Dickey, W. T. Sept. 7, 1922, [Convention date]. Sleepers, securing rails to.-Rails Rare secured by clamps 15 having an extension 18 bevelled at 20 to engage a slot in the sleeper. The clamps are secured on studs 13 by nuts 13a and springs 14. The lower nuts 12 are inscrtible through recesses 11 in the sleeper. Sleepers, composite. -A concrete sleeper 1 is reinforced by expanded-metal plates 2, 10, and metal rods 3, 4, 6, 7 which extend throughout the sleeper. Additional rods 5, 8, 9 are located under each rail seat. The sleeper is shaped as shown at 1<a> to hold it upright.
