Abstract

Polyunsaturated aliphatic esters having the formula (FORMULA) wherein R is a alkyl radical, linear or branched, containing 1 to 5 carbon atoms and wherein the double bond at the position 3 has the cis configuration. The present invention also relates to their use as perfuming and flavouring ingredients as well as a perfuming and flavouring composition containing them. It also relates to a food or a beverage containing as a flavouring ingredient a polyunsaturated aliphatic ester of formula (I). Another object of this invention is the use of hexa-3-cis, 5-diene-1-o1 as a perfuming ingredient for the preparation of perfumes and perfumed products and for the flavouring of foods, beverages, pharmaceutical preparations and tobacco.
