Abstract

A window with combined pivoting and sliding motion comprises a sash element (10), a main frame element (1) having a first guide track (4) and a second and parallel guide track (5) and a rocking arm (2) which is pivotably connected at one end to the sash element and has its other, free, end adapted after an initial rocking movement to engage and slide along the first guide track (4). The rocking arm (2) also has, intermediate its ends a part (12) which engages and slides along the second track (5). A stop member (7) acts as a fulcrum for the rocking arm (2) during the initial opening and final closing movement. A cam surface (6) guides the rocking arm (2) during the initial movement. <IMAGE>
