Abstract

A measuring device especially for rollers 5 for paper mills, is provided with a digital display 28 and a printer 29, the device being height adjustable on a stand 22 fixable on the carriage of a lathe or grinding machine for machining the rollers. The device is provided with a measuring frame 1 movable in a plane transverse to the longitudinal axis of the roller 5 and is furnished with a first spring-loaded follower 4 which is associated with an electronic measuring instrument 3, a second follower 6 disposed diametrically opposite the first follower 4 and a third follower 7 disposed above the highest point of the roller 5. Each of the three followers 4, 6 and 7 includes a rotatable castor wheel 2. The frame 1 is slidable in a slide 13 and pivotable about a horizontal axis 15 so that the frame 1 follows accurately the outer surface of the roller 5 even when the latter is rotating, e.g. during machining. <IMAGE>
