Compounds of the formula: <IMAGE> [where R1 represents an acyl group; R2 is hydrogen or an alkyl or alkoxy group; R3 is hydrogen alkyl, hydroxy, alkoxy, acyloxy, alkylthio or substituted or unsubstituted heterocyclyl-thio; R4 and R6 represent alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or aralkyl groups; R5 represents an alkylenic bridge of from 1 to 10 carbon atoms; n is 1 or 2 and m is 0 or 1] have anti-bacterial activity and low water-solubility.
