Abstract

A device for use in opening an egg comprises a pair of elongate plates 11, 12 which are connected together in spaced parallel relationship, each having an aperture 17 for receiving an egg, the device being located relative to the egg so that an end portion of the egg extends through the apertures (17) and is severed by a knife blade inserted between the plates 11, 12 which may be connected by a hinge or a rivet. <IMAGE>
