Abstract

A windscreen comprises a silicate glass outerpane 10, an adhesive plastics intermediate layer 12, a silicate glass intermediate pane 14 and a plastics surface layer 16 on the inner side of the windscreen. The outer pane 10 is at least twice as thick as the intermediate pane 14 and the plastics surface layer 16 is at least twice as thick as the plastics intermediate layer 12, the combined thickness of the panes 10 and 14 being not more than 5 mm and the combined thickness of the plastics layers 12 and 16 being not more than 1.5 mm. The plastics surface layer may be provided with a further silicate glass pane 18. <IMAGE>
