Abstract

Apparatus for measuring the throughflow or speed of a gas in a conduit 1, comprising temperature- sensitive electrical resistance 3 in the conduit and means for heating as 5, 2, or cooling the gas to a predetermined temperature. Temperature sensor 4 measures the temperature of the aluminium block 2. A further temperature sensor is used for thermostatically controlling the temperature of the block. Temperature sensor 6 provides compensation for volume change. Sensors 3 and 6 are in series in one arm and sensor 4 in another arm of a bridge feeding a comparator. <IMAGE>
