Abstract

Elastomeric articles, such as tyres for example, commonly require to be marked by a label attached thereto. It may be desirable or even essential that the article incorporates one or more substances which have the undesired side effect of staining the label. The present invention provides a label structure which minimises or obviates such staining, by being formed of a base sheet bearing projecting members whose projecting length is substantially greater than their width. Little or no stain reaches the visible outer ends of such members.
