Abstract

An overhead monorail conveyor has articulated trolleys (38) with drive wheels (41) and idle wheels (43) movable along an overhead suspended rail (10). The rail has a generally C-shaped cross section with an upper downward-facing channel (12) in which trolley guide rollers (80, 96) move and a lower upwardly convex semi-cylindrical surface (22) on which the grooved drive wheel (41) and the idle wheel (43) of each trolley (38) roll, protected by the central web (16) of the rail. Lateral guide rollers (80, 96) with vertical axes roll within the upper channel of the rail. <IMAGE>
