Abstract

An anti-squeal shim 10 for a hollow disc brake piston 3 in the form of a circular plate 11 adapted to fit over the open end of the piston 3 - the plate 11 has means to provide resistance to axial and radial displacement of the plate 11 said means comprising at least three lugs 13 bent from the plate so that their bend lines extend radially, and an outer surface of each contacts the internal surface of the piston 3. The plate may and as shown comprise in addition leaf springs 12 to bear resiliently against the internal surface. <IMAGE>
