Abstract
A regulating transformer for electrical toy and model railways comprises a tapped transformer secondary winding 2, an arrangement of rectifiers 31, 32, 33, 34, 36, 37, and a switching arrangement for effecting various connections between the taps 21 ... 28 and the rectifier terminals so that the voltage may be varied on-load. For example, with terminal E connected to tapping 21 and both terminals B and D connected to tapping 28 a bridge circuit providing maximum rectified output is obtained. With other connections half- wave outputs and mixed-wave outputs (i.e. alternate half-cycles of different amplitude) are obtained. Constructional details of a rotary switch for effecting sequential changes of connections are disclosed (Figs. 9 and 10 not shown). The switch includes a printed circuit plate. <IMAGE>
