Abstract

Blade 1 of a corkscrew or similar tool is pivotally connected at its rear end 13 to a head 12 slidable in a carrier member 2 whereby the blade 1 can either aligned with the carrier member 2 and at least partly retracted with the head 12 into the latter, or extended from the carrier member 2 and turned at a right angle for use. The carrier member 2 is contained in a housing 3 and receives a removable cap 4 for enclosing the retracted blade 1 which cap 4 also serves as a member for retaining the blade 1 in position of use and further in conjunction with the housing 3 provides a handle for operating the blade 1. <IMAGE>
