Abstract

A load-dependant brake fluid pressure regulator for motor vehicles in which a desired brake pressure ratio is automatically established between the full load position and the no-load position if a linkage connecting the brake pressure regulator to a vehicle axle should fracture. The load- dependant regulator having regulator pistons (3, 4) subjected to fluid pressure and which act against a rocker (5) which can be supported at different points (34, 35). Upon fracture of the linkage, a support member (6) moves beyond the no- load position and, in this case, the second support (35) engages the rocker (5) so that the lever arms (40, 41) becoming effective lead to the desired brake pressure ratio. An additional power element, preferably a torsion spring (71), is provided to ensure that a stop position beyond the no-load position is reached. <IMAGE>
