Abstract

A device for subjecting water flowing through pipes to an electromagnetic field to prevent incrustation and corrosion in the pipes, comprises a flow chamber 1 for connection in the pipeline system, a direct-current electromagnet 4 around the flow chamber, and a diffuser in the chamber, the diffuser comprising ribs 6 in crossed arrangement to hold the diffuser in the chamber 1 and a worm 7 rotatable in the chamber by the flow of water. <IMAGE>
