Abstract

201,689. Robinson, A. S. F. May 25, 1922. Ends; foot-rings.-Milk churns are provided with indiarubber or like resilient foot-rings or tyres held within annular metal rims of dovetailed section. The tyres may be moulded in place within rims of the forms shown in Figs. 1 to 3, the vertical attachment flanges of such rims being secured to the foot-rings of the churns as indicated at 10, Fig. 2, by means of a cement such as cast-iron borings moistened with sal ammoniac. The tyre shown in Fig. 5 is secured in place by its root being formed with an annular cavity subsequently filled with such cement through holes in the rim, and that shown in Fig. 4 is formed with a slit adapted to be forced over an annular ring 14 of wedge-shaped section.
