The water is supplied by a pump, the diaphragm k of which is operated by the pressure variations in the pipe h supplying a gas engine, the pump chamber d being connected through non-return valves to water inlet and outlet pipes e, f. In a modification 'the pump is operated by the exhaust gases from the engine.
