Abstract

A lintel assembly for use in the construction of a cavity wall structure and having a metal angle section lintel tray (5) extending across the cavity with a horizontal portion (6) of the tray (5) located beneath the outer wall portion of the cavity wall structure, and a lintel (2) supporting the inner wall portion of the cavity wall structure, wherein the lintel (2) is provided with restraining means (1) arranged to restrain the edge (4) of the lintel tray (5) remote from the horizontal portion (6) and prevent deformation thereof, without imposing a downward load on the lintel (2) of the assembly. <IMAGE>
