Abstract

For preventing an unwanted sheet being seized by grippers (2, 3), a cam (12) which oscillates for controlling normal opening and closing of the grippers is also pivotable about a point (11) to hold the grippers open. A second cam (31) joined to the cam (12) bears against a ball bearing (17) which is moveable against a spring (24) by a magnet (21) in response to faulty sheet detection. In one position of the bearing the first cam (12) remains in its normal position, while in the other position of the bearing (as shown in Fig. 1) the first cam is pivoted so that the grippers will not close at their receiving point. <IMAGE>
