Abstract
A reversible gerotor pump has a reversing eccentric (40) for maintaining a constant pumping direction irrespective of the direction of rotation. The eccentric (40) is seated with a bearing surface (42) thereof, upon a bearing surface (62) provided in a housing member (14) and is frictionally coupled to a rotary outer gear (52) so as to be properly positioned thereby upon each reversal of rotation. In order to minimize the risk of sticking of the eccentric (40) there is means e.g. protrusions (80), limiting the area of direct frictional contact between the two fiat bearing surfaces (42, 62) to substantially less than the total area of the bearing surface (42) of the eccentric, and positively maintaining a lubricant- receiving space between said bearing surfaces. Alternatively, the protrusions are formed on a plate (60). <IMAGE>
