Abstract

There is provided a toner powder for use in the development of latent electrostatic images. The toner powder contains a thermoplastic insulating resin, colouring material and, if desired, a negative acting polarity control agent, the thermoplastic insulating resin comprising (1) a resin obtained from an epoxy resin by blocking of epoxy groups by reaction with a monofunctional carboxylic acid, phenol or diarylsulphonamide and by intermolecular reaction and/or reaction with an epoxy hardener, and, optionally, (2) a phenoxy resin. By varying the composition of the toner powders, powders which are adapted to their proposed use, particularly with respect to their fusing and fixing range, thermal stability and charging level may be obtained.
