Abstract

An electrically operated yoghurt making appliance comprises an electrically heated plate (P) and a thermal switch (L) for reducing the power consumed by the plate (P) when it reaches a predetermined temperature level. A current limiting resistor (4) is connected across the switch (L) which opens when the plate reaches the predetermined temperature level and allows a reduced current to flow through the plate. <IMAGE>
