Abstract

A filtering face piece dust respirator consists of a cup (1) of multi- layer material consisting of a filtering layer sandwiched between porous supporting layers, the filtering layer being of widely spaced fibres of a dielectric, eg electret, material such as polypropylene, whereby the filtering action is not a mechanical action but is due to an electric charge formed on the dielectric material. <IMAGE>
