Abstract

A film of a photosensitive composition having different powder receiving capability between its exposed and unexposed portions is coated on the inner surface of the face plate of a colour picture tube. Then, the film is exposed to light through the colour selection electrode which is spaced a predetermined distance from the face plate to form a pattern of exposed portions on the film. Thereafter powders of a pigment and a phosphor are deposited onto the pattern in accordance with the difference in the powder receiving capability. Preferably the exposed portions are rendered tacky and the composition can be exposed several times, each time a phosphor of a different colour being deposited.
