Abstract

There is disclosed a spring loaded end fitting for a roller blind in which opposite ends of a coil spring 30 are carried by a part 13 to be fixed in one end of a hollow blind roller 10 and a part 34 which is normally non rotatably engaged on a tube 18 fixed in a part 11 to be fixed with respect to a mounting bracket 22. A tube 44 surrounds the spring 30 and engages the coils of spring 30 before the latter is fully unwound, so that the spring is pre-tensioned in the end fitting as fitted. The part 34 forms, with ribs on the tube 18, a positive engagement clutch which is disengaged, when the spring is overwound, by the longitudinal displacement of part 34 caused by the axial lengthening of the spring. A further clutch is provided between the parts 11 and 13. <IMAGE>
