Abstract

A zeolite adsorbent comprising a modified faujasite structured zeolite which has an increased SiO2 to Al2O3 mole ratio is improved in its adsorptive selectivity for p-xylene compared to m-xylene. Preparation of the zeolite adsorbent is by treating a conventional faujasite structured zeolite with an acid.
