Abstract

An analysis cell for feeding alpha diketones for their measurement under continuous flow conditions has a feedpath (1) and a reference or blank path (2). Each path comprises in series, an injector (6) for introducing reactant and air into a solution of alpha diketone-containing distillation condensates from a sample, a mixing coil (7), a delay coil (8), an acid injector (9), two mixing coils (11, 12), a debubbler (14), an air injector (17), and if required a supplementary debubbler (20). This invention is of use in industries producing fermented products, fermented drinks, and in particular beer. <IMAGE>
