Abstract

A device for deriving energy from wave motion of the sea or other natural water source includes a cylindrical body (10, 64) mounted in fixed position relative to the prevailing disposition of one or more motions; the cylinder (10, 64) including rows of channels (60) or buckets (14) adapted to receive from the swell of a wave on one side of the cylinder (10) and to discharge water when those channels (60) or buckets (14) rotate to the other side of the cylinder (10, 64). Orifices (22, 78) for air access are provided. The cylinder (10, 64) is associated with electricity generator (70).
