Abstract

A method of constructing a building comprises the steps of forming a first factory-constructed section defining a habitable space and having a first edge with a first channel therein., forming a second factory-constructed section defining a second habitable space and having a second edge with a second channel therein, and connecting the sections by locating an elongate member in both the first channel and the second channel so has to force the first edge into contact with the second edge. The building so formed may comprise more than one vertically stacked layer of prefabricated building modules, each defining a room. The elongate member may be of H section so as to fit into a lipped channel on each of the adjacent sections.
