Abstract

Residual products obtained in the catalytic dehydration of alpha- methylbenzyl alcohol are treated to recover monomeric styrene values by a process which comprises fractionally distilling the residue products in two stages, the temperature and residence time in the second (e.g. 300-425 DEG C) being greater than those in the first (e.g. 180-275 DEG C).
