Abstract

A sail board has an upper surface formed substantially centrally with a recess (8) for receiving a mast heel and with a centre board well (9). The undersurface of the sail board has three regions of substantially equal length constituting stern (3), middle (4) and bow (5) regions. The stern region has a substantially horizontal flat (6) which decreases in width away from the stern of the sail board and which extends over at least half the area of the stern region. The middle region has substantially the same width as the stern region and is convex width wise. The bow region has a width which decreases gradually towards the bow of the sail board and has a substantially V-shaped cross-section. The undersurface of the sail board rises curvilinearly from the plane of the horizontal flat at such an angle that the perpendicular distance (A) of the bow from the plane is from 5 to 10% of the length of the board. <IMAGE>
