Abstract

A method of forming reference surfaces (15, 16, 28), which are in spacially defined positions relative to one another, on a machine-tool column (14) is disclosed in which the reference surfaces (15, 16, 28) which are present on the machine-tool column (14) and which come into contact with other machine components when the machine is finally assembled, are made by a casting process with the aid of patterns (18) or with the aid of the actual machine components (17), which are to be attached later as the pattern. The dimensions (24, 25) which are to be observed are adhered to by aligning the pattern (18) or machine components (17) relative to one another and are fixed by casting with synthetic resin. <IMAGE>
