Abstract

A scraper comprising an elongate blade or blade element 10, a blade locator 11, and a mounting arrangement 12; wherein the blade of sandwich construction or blade element is held by the blade locator in a normally upwardly directed plane; wherein the blade locator is slidably located by the mounting arrangement for movement in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the blade or blade element; wherein bias means 13 is provided, in use, to urge the blade or blade element towards belt conveyor 14 to be scraped to engage the blade or blade element with the belt; and wherein the blade or blade element is permitted to move from said normally upwardly directed plane by a limited amount against a resilient resistance provided by a resilient layer 22 in the sandwich or a resilient body 23 in the blade locator. <IMAGE>
