One of the elongate vice members 32, 34 of a workbench comprises two parts 36, 38, part 38 being movable relative to the other part 36 in a direction perpendicular to the direction of relative movement of the two members 32 and 34 to enable a workpiece to be clamped between the two parts. <IMAGE>
