Abstract
Copolymers of at least two acrylate monomers selected from isobutyl methacrylate, 2-ethylhexyl methacrylate, methyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate, 2- ethylhexyl acrylate, lauryl acrylate, butyl acrylate, butyl methacrylate, and isodecyl methacrylate; and or of a monomer selected from styrene, alpha - methyl styrene, acrylonitrile, vinyl toluene, methyl methacrylate, vinyl chloride, and vinylidene chloride; an organic acid or acid anhydride; and N- vinyl-2- pyrrolidone are incorporated into water reducible coating compositions. The coating compositions yield clear coatings with good adhesion and water resistance.
