Abstract
A plain bearing 2 for a rotary shaft comprises a plurality of coaxial tubular elements 14, 16 that are made of substantially non-metallic materials and are mounted one within another. The tubular elements 14, 16 include a first tubular element 14 having an outer face 14' and a second tubular element 16 having an inner face 16" that engages the outer face of the first tubular element, said outer and inner faces 4', 16" being of substantially matched frustoÂ-conical shape. Reference is also made to a kit of parts for such a plain bearing and also to a method of manufacturing such a plain bearing.
