Abstract

A windowsill extension 5 formed as an extrusion, typically of uPVC, comprising an elongate arm 6 terminating in a hollow sill portion 7 providing a sill edge 8 and in which the cross section of the extrusion comprises a key 13 for a render coating 23. The sill may have weakness points 9 to alter the width of the arm 6. Also claimed is an under sill (Fig 4/5) which is similar in construction but sits under the original sill. Also claimed is a coping system (Fig 7), possibly using the same extrusion, for capping the top of a wall having insulation, comprising a support (200), a pair of extrusions (199) comprising an elongate arm (206), a hollow portion (207) and a distal end for reception in a socket (205) of the support (200). Also claimed is a method of manufacture of the extrusions using a die to form extrusions of a plastic material which are heated to a malleable temperature; bending some of the lengths whilst the extrusion is flexible and allowing the extrusions to cool. The method generates a plurality of sets of cooled extrusions using the same die, the sets differing in the bends that have been applied to the extrusion.
