Abstract

In a pressure limiting valve for use in a hydraulic system such as a vehicle powered steering system, the pressure of the loading spring 5 on the valve closing member 4 is adjustable by means of an adjustment member. Conveniently, the adjustment member is a ball 9 which is an interference fit in the bore. Alternatively, it may be an adjustment screw coated with a plastics material. <IMAGE>
