Abstract
Thermal noise in magnetoresistive (MR) heads is cancelled by providing a 'thin film resistor stripe' of non- magnetic material, adjacent to the MR stripe so as to experience the same heat-generating effects and the same, or equivalent, thermal shift in resistance, then using the thermally-induced voltage therefrom to cancel that generated in the MR stripe.
