Abstract

A printer has a print head movable along a print line by driving means coupled to a pulse generator providing successive position pulses which are fed to the means which energise the print head for printing, so that characters are printed in predetermined positions along the print line irrespective of the scanning speed of the print head. The head may have a column of print needles, successive columns of dots being printed every Nth pulse, where N is selectable to change the font. <IMAGE>
