Abstract

A door locking apparatus for temporarily locking a door in a closed configuration within a door frame by inserting the device through the hole intended for installation of a lock. A first clamp 12 is connected to a second clamp 16 by a connecting rod 14 which passes through a vacated lock or key barrel aperture in the door to clamp against both sides of the door. The first clamp also clamps against the door frame and may include a door clamping plate 18 and a door frame plate 20 connected by a brace 22, the plates may be offset to accommodate door rebates and architraves. The brace 22 may include a slot 30 for lateral adjustment of the clamp. The connected rod may be a threaded shaft and a wing nut for clamping having an aperture for insertion of a padlock (50, fig.9) to prevent removal of the device.
