Abstract

An insulating holder 10 for a batten of a pre-determined size, for use in a construction on a structural element of a building. The holder has in a first side a recess 11 configured and dimensioned to receive the batten. A second side of the holder opposite the first side is arranged to be mounted on the surface of the structural element. The holder is made of an insulating material. The recess may have a rectangular cross section and may be dimensioned such that a batten is prevented from moving within the recess. The holder may further comprise a flange 14, 15 formed on the second side. A construction having a plurality of such holders and a method of making such a construction are also claimed.
