Abstract

A non-woven web comprising fusible fibres is fusion bonded in a pattern to form semi-transparent areas in which the fibres are fused substantially into a film and other areas in which the fibres remain substantially fibrous and these other areas are impregnated with a pigment so as to increase the contrast in the pattern. Preferably the fibre weight of the web is below 130 g/m<2>
