Abstract
The present invention relates to membrane composites for use in the separation of gases which composites comprise a film of a semipermeable material, preferably 250 to 10,000 Angstroms thick, directly applied on a porous support member. Such films are preferably directly formed on the support member by contacting it with a membrane-forming precursor and then forming the film, for example by polymerizing or cross-linking.
